Fullerton police officer faces charges of off-duty theft and embezzlement in auto-loan case

By Sean Emery, Orange County Register | A Fullerton officer suspected of stealing $24,000 from a lender and an auto buyer while off-duty is facing grand theft and embezzlement charges, authorities said.

Hugo Garcia, 32, has been charged with felony counts of grand theft by false pretense and embezzlement by debtor of security agreement, according to an Orange County District Attorney’s statement.

    According to that article, this example of “Fullerton’s Finest” is on PAID leave. Wow what a deal. How long does this go on? Anybody know? Can he be paid while waiting the year for the trial to start?
