An update on Paulette Marshall Chaffee’s plea in campaign sign theft case

Earlier today a post here citing the Orange County Register reported that she had pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.

Today the Register reported that on Thursday she changed her plea to guilty:

The wife of former Fullerton Mayor Doug Chaffee, who recently was elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors, pleaded guilty Thursday, Dec. 20, to stealing election signs critical of her bid for the City Council. … she admitted to two misdemeanor counts of petty theft after pleading not guilty earlier in the week. Chaffee is scheduled to be sentenced March 20 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
